Product intro

Bolt CMS is a lightweight CMS built with the Silex Microframework. It is well built and a great alternative for developers looking for a modern PHP system to replace WordPress, for example.

Open Orchestra is an Open Source CMS built on the full stack framework. For database it uses a MongoDB, a NoSQL store rather than the more typical Relational Databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.

Main advantages
  • Clean architecture built with Silex, very easy to learn
  • Standard components for Forms and Database
  • Clean purpose, not trying to solve every problem
  • Full Stack Symfony implementation with focus on code quality
  • NoSQL MongoDB backend allows high performance
  • Clean admin UI with drag & drop layout management
Main disvantages
  • Developer availability compared to WP
  • Extensibility for multilingual, etc. depends on extensions
  • Limited community size
  • Fairly unknown and not widely adopted
  • Quite dependent on the efforts of a single company
  • Documentation not the best (REST API, for example)
