Product intro

Symphony CMS is a content management system that is built using PHP language. Despite the similarity in naming it has nothing to do with the Symfony project also written in PHP.

Kunstmaan Agency has created a number of Symfony2 Framework Bundles to enable developers to create web applications with CMS features. It's not a complete product in itself, but offers flexibility for skilled developers to create easy to use site experiences for content creators.

Main advantages
  • Simple to read codebase
  • Easy user interface
  • Extensible by default
  • Flexible, choose only what you need and adjust to your needs
  • Uses standard Symfony Framework structure and development practises
  • Can be integrated into existing Symfony2 applications
Main disvantages
  • Codebase shows it's age
  • Heavy investment in project specific technology
  • Limited popularity
  • Limited adoption outside of Kunstmaan
  • A bit hard to purchase, because it's a collection of components rather than a complete product
  • Future roadmap a questionmark
