Product intro

Victoire CMS is an Open Source CMS built as a Symfony Framework Bundle. In development since 2015 the tool makes use of Doctrine ORM for storage and a lot of other standard components from the Symfony ecosystem.

Drupal 8 is a partial modernisation of the legacy Drupal CMS with a few parts of Symfony under the hood. Usability improvements were not the focus and to the end user Drupal 8 is very much like Drupal 7.

Main advantages
  • Being able to adopt into any Full Stack Symfony project
  • Doctrine ORM a solid data storage choice
  • Contemporary admin user experience
  • Based on stable legacy with critical APIs in place
  • A large number of ready made modules (for Drupal 7)
  • Large mass of developers brings stability for purchasers
Main disvantages
  • Not a very known project with limited adoption
  • Currently dependent on efforts of one agency
  • Not proven for enterprise grade projects where Symfony Framework shines
  • A custom architecture based on Symfony Components, proprietary module structure
  • Usability of admin interface not very good and remains tightly coupled to Drupal
  • Suspect to security issues due to custom implementation and popularity (see Drupalgeddon)
